Summer 2017 Weekly Roundup: Week Four

What a hectic week this has been, with some of the strongest shows moving all the way down my personal list I guess this is the result of the rule-of-three system. Don’t believe that the week wasn’t without its highlights though – one of my favourite episodes of the year aired this week and warranted an entire video dissecting it. Although not a positive highlight, an episode this week also made me physically nauseous so it’s definitely been one hell of a week.

(Casual Article) My Tips for Anime Blogging

This may end up being the most arrogant post on the blog but as this site grows, I’ve had multiple people ask me for any tips and tricks when it comes to Blogging for Anime. Also by no means is this a definitive “guide to blogging”, every writer works differently and has their own method of working. These are simply what I personally think are important factors in creating an interesting anime blog.

Summer 2017 Weekly Roundup: Week Three

With seasonal anime conforming to the social formality where “the rule of three” makes or breaks a series, this third week can be considered the most crucial time is a show’s run-time. All in all, there have been no considerably drastic leaps or dips with this week but some of these episodes have really shone from what we saw last time. As much as I would like to watch every show this season, it isn’t viable considering the time sink so in this week’s roundup I will also be saying whether I am dropping or continuing each show.

Hinako Note: Inconsistent, Indecisive, In the Trash [Review]

At first, this show seemed to be a spin-off show of GochiUsa, a show following a group of girls working in a coffee shop – and admittedly is the reason it was in my Queue. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find that this was its own show entirely and focused on a theatre setting. Although I may be biased as “cute girls in theatre” is possibly my favourite combination of words, this show definitely doesn’t get a free pass as a result.

Summer 2017 Weekly Roundup: Week Two

In this second week, all the shows I plan to watch have finally began airing and they wasted no time in drawing me in. Although not every show presented such a strong start, this week is one of the key milestones in whether or not viewers will decide to continue or drop a series. With a few surprises and some shows clearly conserving their strength, this week without a doubt had its moments.

(Casual Article) Kinmoza Memories – Mobile Game

So recently I’ve discovered that you can play Japanese mobile games which (depending on how you look at it), is possibly the greatest or worst piece of information I could have found out. I would say I’m a pretty tough person to please when it comes to these free app games, but this game advertised fantastic Kiniro Mosaic art that I had never seen before. Needless to say, I’m addicted.

Demi-chan wa Kataritai – Monster Girls have never been so cute [Review]

How do you encompass youth in one word? There are a wide variety of answers that are all correct in their own right, but the one that sums it up for me is Growth. Youth is a time of development, finding yourself and still trying to fit in. Seemingly endless days with friends and making every attempt at creating memories with them, youth is a wonderful thing and is one of the most effective themes presented in anime. Demi-chan wa Kataritai perfectly encompasses this concept through its innovative characters, spectacular narrative pacing and beautiful visuals. It really has been a long time since a show this effortlessly enjoyable and engaging has come along.
