My Anime Journey #2: Angel Beats!

Having only watched Lucky Star, a fluffy show lacking any real impact, I set out to watch something a bit more narrative reliant. If I recall correctly, I took to forums and discussions in an attempt to branch out from my first show. My love for complex and hard-hitting stories clearly hit home here as Angel Beats! still remains one of the strongest shows I’ve seen. From its hard hitting narrative, dark undertones and incredibly inventive soundtrack, the strength of each element really come together to build a genuinely impressive story. That being said, this series isn’t without its flaws and my ignorance definitely affected my views on the show at the time.  Continue reading “My Anime Journey #2: Angel Beats!”

An Invitation to an Open Discussion with my Readers [Update Video]

Since the site’s “relaunch” back in the start of July, Truly Trash Media has been doing incredibly well and it’s all thanks to each of you! This isn’t just a celebration video though. I’m someone who loathes the idea of becoming content, and although the site itself has been performing spectacularly, I want to broaden the horizon. Piece by Piece: New Game!! – Breaking Down Aoba’s Breakdown

So this is the first episode of a new Video Series I’ve been wanting to make for a very, very long time. Piece by Piece is an anime analysis show where I delve into what I consider to be a well produced sequence and figure out how it’s as effective as it is. In this episode, we go deep into the cinematography and visual direction of New Game!! and how it visually presents Aoba’s struggle as a character designer amongst an experienced team. Although this took around a week to produce, this idea has been in the planning stage for months now so I hope you enjoy the video!

Super Duper Huge Update Video!

Hey again, it’s been about 3/4 months since something new has hit this version of Truly Trash Media. A lot has happened in that time so here is the final, super duper huge update video that explains absolutely everything that’s been going on. Also the banner is Orange because I didn’t actually think of a colour for these kind of updatey articles.
